Tangaliya is a very interesting art. It looks like an embroidery but its a weaving. The dots are locally know as "Daana". The beauty of this are is the final fabric looks exactly same on both the sides. The weave was practised on coarse wool but with time the demand for such wool reduced and so the art form. Today some of the weavers have moved to cotton and rest have stopped weaving completely.
The art is known to be from Surendranagar, Gujarat. The cushion cover is designed by Lavjibhai Parmar, an artisan from Surendranagar.
