This beauty is handwoven cotton Bomkai saree from Odisha. Designed with lot of love and keeping in mind the needs of today's customers, the saree is light to wear and is perfect for parties. Odisha, the state known for its tie and dye, produces Bomkai, locally known as Bandha, which in itself is a furthering of the tie and dye technique. The smaller patterns are made using extra weft while the more complex and larger patterns are made using a very laborious technique called Jala technique.
The saree is designed Dayalu Meher. His family has been in the business of textiles since time immemorial. They have around 30 families working with them. They have managed to move along with the market demand and has upgraded their designs with time.
