The fabic is handwoven, cotton and dyes used are natural. The embroidery done on this product is called Soof embroidery. It is one of the most expensive embroidery as the design is not printed on the fabric but its in the mind of the craftsmen and its made by counting the gap created by warp and weft. So each embroidery shape is exact across the garment.
This product is designed by an artisan Laxmi Puvar under the brand name Ruhani. She along with Tulsi Puvar and Tara Puvar have started their own venture. This trio like many others were busy doing embroidery work for several organisations until one day Somaiya Kala Vidhyalaya empowered them to start a business of their own. They are now entrepreneurs for 2 years already and the youngest amongst them is just 18.
The trio belongs to a village called Faradi near Mandvi.
